Digital Teardrops "Best Mother in the Whole World" Essay Contest

OFFICIAL RULES

1. HERE'S HOW IT WORKS: Write an original 200-words or less essay describing “why my mom is the best mother in the whole world.” All essays should be written in a sincere and caring way that will reflect the feelings of love and respect the writer has the person about whom he is writing. Essays may be written about mothers, grandmothers, foster or adoptive moms, anyone who has been a motherly influence and who may be people who are living or deceased.

2. ELIGIBILITY: Contestants of all ages are welcome to enter. All information will be kept private and will not be shared or sold to any outside parties.

3. HOW TO ENTER: Fill out our online Essay Contest Entry Form. Entries will be accepted beginning 12:01 a.m. (CT) on 2/15/08 through 11:59 p.m. (CT) on 4/15/08.

4. JUDGING: All entries received will be judged to determine the top three winners. Judging will be conducted by Digital Teardrops, whose decisions are final on all matters relating to this Contest. Judging will be based on the following criteria: Originality & Creativity of Essay – 40%; Sincerity of Essay – 30%; and Appropriateness of Essay to Theme – 30%. In the event of a tie, the tie will be broken based on the highest score for “Originality & Creativity of Essay.” All material submitted becomes property of Sponsor and will not be returned.

5. WINNERS: Prize winners will be contacted by phone or e-mail and will be announced on the Digital Teardrops website on 4/21/08. The winning essays will be featured on the website.

6. PRIZES: Contestants will be divided into two categories: 1) Adults 18 and older and 2) Children 17 and under. The First Place winner in each category will receive a 11 x14" Two-Generation Handpainted Family Tree Wallhanging (see samples.) Second and Third Place winners in each category will each receive a handpainted 8x10" Mother's Day Inspirational Wallhanging.
