We officially adopted Brianna on March 17, 2000. She was a very sweet girl who was quick to give a hug or help anyone in need. She loved to hold the baby and sing her to sleep. We realize each day how much she has meant to us and we miss her more than we ever thought possible.
She was in good health and her death came as a great shock to all. She died in her sleep and the cause was determined to be due to an enlarged heart. We feel a great loss and sadness at her passing, yet we rejoice in the fact that we will see her again one day.
Our family has had many great experiences throughout the days that have gone by since her death. We are in awe of how many people have stepped forward to help us in so many ways. We appreciate all the great and wonderful things that have been down--they mean more than we could ever express.
The days are sometimes long, and the nights are even longer yet, but we continue to move forward and pray that the Lord will heal our hearts and give us opportunities to serve as others have served us.
Our Sweet Brianna
Brianna is gone,
Sooner than we expected.
Miracles abound,
People have been affected.
Our family is sad,
At times we feel lonely.
And sometimes poor Mom
Feels "what if" or "if only."
Time keeps moving forward,
Life still carries on.
We still can't believe
That she's really gone.
We find great comfort
in the Gospel of Peace.
We know we willl see her
which helps the pain ease.
Lord, please help us hang on
and all work together,
so our family will be
now and forever.

Goodbye, dear Brianna, until we meet again. We love you so much!!

Brianna's 6th Birthday
This is Brianna's first birthday with us. She had only lived with us for us nine days when she had her birthday. She loved to play with Winnie the Pooh and Barbies.

Brianna and Annika, Almost Twins
Annika was only seven weeks younger than Brianna, so they called each other twins. This was very fitting, because they did everything together. Brianna's death has been most difficult on Annika, because she lost her best friend and constant companion. Brianna and Annika decided to start a business called Crazy Eights Cards together. Annika is very sad that Brianna is not here to make cards with her, but plans to keep making them in Brianna's honor.
